Cornsilk has been used for almost anything related to the urinary system. It has a relaxing effect and has been used by people to assist in cases of frequent urination and scalding or burning urination. Corn Silk can be used to help alleviate symptoms that go along with the following conditions, bedwetting, cystitis, prostatitis, urinary tract infections, kidney stones, gout and hyperglycaemia. It’s also a natural source of vitamin K and potassium.
Use about 1 tablespoon of chopped corn silk per cup of almost boiling water. Cover and let this steep for fifteen to twenty minutes or until cool enough to drink. Strain and drink. You can store leftovers in the refrigerator for two to three days.
