Chamomile is known as a good herb in the garden, as the more it gets walked on the more it spreads.

As a tea it has been used for relaxing tense and aching muscles and for its calming action.

It can be used as a tea to be given to ailing plants in the house or garden, as it is a restorative.

Chamomile also can help a child fall asleep. Chamomile is calming to adults as well, but don’t hesitate to sip it throughout the day — its relaxing effects do not interfere with activities such as driving a car or completing difficult tasks, as is the case with prescription sedatives.

Chamomile is an ideal choice for those with ulcers or other stomach problems aggravated by anxiety. Muscle pain that results from stress and worry is another indication for chamomile. Twitching and tics in muscles may respond to chamomile tea.

The infusion, made from 1 OZ. of the flowers to 1 pint of boiling water and taken in doses of a tablespoonful to a wineglass, known popularly as Chamomile Tea, is an old-fashioned but extremely efficacious remedy for hysterical and nervous affections in women and is used also as an emmenagogue (encourage menstruation).

It has a wonderfully soothing, sedative and absolutely loving effect. It is considered a wonderful preventive and the sole certain remedy for nightmare.
